Roland's are out (I have a Juno Di that springs back when writing dynamics using the mod). Novations are out (they have an all-in-one pitch and mod with a spring from what I understand). using a wheel based non spring mod wheel that stays where you want it. The problem with the joy stick pitch and mod is they have a spring in them and even though that's all right when using pitch bend, when writing dynamics using the mod, as soon as you let go the mod 'Springs Back' and then the dynamic goes all the way back to zero vs. Then I was thinking if I DIDN'T get the Keylab 88 'What little 25 key could I use that has the wheel style mod and pitch to connect to my Yamaha P95?' (since the joy stick ones don't work well with Kontakt libs like Spitfire etc.) When I first saw the Arturia Keylab 88 I immediately didn't consider it cause it just didn't have that 'professional sheen!' But since there's slim pickings on a good weighted 88 controller I thought 'What the heck!' I would try it out right? It also had the right pitch and mod wheel style I needed. make a REALLY GOOD hardware and a super sleek modern design! Of course you need good software to boot! What they SHOULD do is grab a few Nektars and copy what they did like.

Going to register it and ask for a new remote and a car adapter.Why they wouldn't just partner up with Akai or Novation like Ableton et al, blows my mind. If I didn't have to pay to ship it back I would for a new one.

My unit says Macivision on it and not Nextar. Mine was set to in and when I switched it to out it worked. Then I realized there is a switch on the side for AV in and out. I could tell the power was on but the dvd wouldn't spin or anything. Overall Review: I had the same problem Rob had at first and it was very frustrating. The battery was very difficult to attach. The unit will not fit in the case with the battery attached. Where to attach it, how long to charge, etc.

There is no mention of the battery at all in the manual. I think the volume worked with it and that was it. The remote doesn't work either! Tried both batteries. When I called Nextar to get a new one they told me you have to register the product first on their website, then wait a day or to to get an email with a customer # then call them back.
